Summit4StemCell receives funding
The world-leading project for alleviation/cure of Parkinson’s disease based on the body’s own stem cells Summit4StemCell in San Diego, California, is finally receiving funding from the State of California of 2.36 million dollars following a two year application time and delicate negotiations.
This might be significantly less than was applied for, but it means that the research work can go ahead as planned for now. By the start of the clinical approval studies though, there will be another funding gap of about the same magnitude. Thus the project will have to raise considerable sums in private donations (→ our call for donations). If sufficient funding is available, the clinical studies can begin as soon as spring 2018.
