Parkinson's patients climb Macchu Picchu
28 Parkinson’s patients and friend/relatives climbed a further prominent mountain peak in Macchu Picchu in Peru to support the Summit4StemCell (S4SC) project. Every participant made a donation him or herself and also gained sponsorship so that a total of over 100.000 US dollars was collected in donations.
These will go to Summit4StemCell, the world-leading project in the alleviation/cure of Parkinson’s disease on the basis of the body’s own stem cells. The money is urgently needed there, because despite the funding agreed in July 2016 by the Californian Funding Agency CIRM considerable sums are still needed to be able to achieve the aim of starting the clinical study in spring 2018.
